Warriors host Trail Blazers at Chase Center in a preseason test
Golden State is 3-2 and unbeaten at home, undefeated Portland is 3-0, and both teams have injuries to sort through.

Think of the preseason as a tasting menu: small plates, no commitments, plenty of rotating chefs. Friday night at Chase Center, the Warriors serve one more course before the real meal begins.
The Warriors (3-2, 2-0 at home) host the Portland Trail Blazers (3-0, 1-0 on the road). It's the 2027 preseason, so there are no standings to read and no regular-season form to lean on. What we have is a home team that has protected its floor and a visitor that hasn't lost yet.
The injury report is the real headline
Nobody should be shocked if the Warriors' lineup looks like a remix instead of the original track. Jimmy Butler III and Moses Moody are both out following knee surgery. Three more names are listed day-to-day: Draymond Green (rest), Al Horford (rest) and Kristaps Porzingis (undisclosed).
That's a lot of rotation question marks for a game on the calendar. The rest designations for Green and Horford read like precaution, and that's the point of this time of year. Porzingis being listed with an undisclosed issue is worth watching, and we'll find out how much it matters closer to tip.
If the Warriors go thin, expect bench minutes to get real attention. For the fringe of the roster, a game like this is an audition.
Portland shows up undefeated, but not at full strength
The Blazers have the cleaner record, and I love a team that walks into someone else's building with a clean sheet. They've got their own medical issues, though. Shaedon Sharpe is out after knee surgery, and Chris Youngblood is day-to-day with calf soreness.
Two of the Blazers' three wins have come against conference opponents (they're 2-0 versus the conference). Golden State's 3-2 mark is also entirely against conference foes by the listed split, so neither side has a gap in schedule strength to hide behind.
How to watch

Our take
A preseason record is a vibe, not a verdict, and I'm not going to pretend 3-0 means more than it does. With the Warriors' rotation so uncertain, I'd lean toward a loose, experimental game where the result matters less than who gets the minutes. If I have to pick, I'll take the home team, since Golden State's 2-0 mark at Chase Center is the one trend that's actually tied to this building. That's opinion, though. Mostly I want to see who's healthy.
The teams don't meet in the regular season until Nov. 27, so this one is a warm-up with no stakes attached. Enjoy it for what it is.
